Energy‑efficient evaporation in practice – this is how MVR performs when it really matters
Norsk Spesialolje AS (NSO) has now had their new MVR evaporator from AMOF Fjell Process Technology AS in full operation – and the results are clear:
Low energy consumption, stable production, and high heat recovery in a demanding and continuous process.
The solution was delivered as a complete, customized MVR package designed for NSO’s process environment. What our customer team receives the most praise for:
🔹 Energy‑efficient operation – very low energy consumption per ton of evaporated water
🔹 Robust heat‑pump performance with high thermal recovery
🔹 Operational stability in a process with significant variations
🔹 Strong collaboration between NSO and AMOF Fjell throughout the entire project
Feedback from NSO is straightforward:
They chose the right solution and the right supplier.
A big thank‑you to the team at Norsk Spesialolje – especially Torbjørn Skarbø and Bjørn Roger Broen – for great collaboration and for allowing us to share some of the results.
And thanks to Jarle Steinsland and Ørjan Jansen on our side for strong technical work and solid execution.
Achieved performance: 36 kWh per ton of evaporated water — a 94.7% reduction compared to industrial steam boilers. These are exceptionally strong results, especially considering that the evaporator produces a very high‑solids concentrate.
This type of technology will only grow in importance going forward – for energy, cost efficiency, and the environment.
